How to wear Bright Lipstick

Fuchsia, purple (pastel and vibrant), orange, coral, and barbie pink...

Lips are coming in all shades right now. Problem is most of us have no idea how to wear these kind of colours on our lips. The two main ways that I saw while doing my research were a bold barbie inspired colour everywhere look and minimalist, as little makeup everywhere else as possible. (total opposites right?)

I can't do both looks for you in one day so this is going to be doing a 2 day series! Today because I have to go out in public I decided to go with the minimalist way to wear bold lips. I think the barbie inspired makeup will look fabulous but not as a family outing going to church kind of look. It is more of a night out dancing kind of look. For both looks I am going with a fuchsia because thats what I have lol.

Here is the minimalist look -->

Products Used

  • Under eye concealer by Almay
  • Maybelline superstay 10hr lip gloss in fresh fuchsia --> featured in my long lasting competition!
  • Various colours from a large Wal-mart brand gift palette
  • Mascara by Rimmel Lycra lash extender --> check out my rant about non-curl holding lashes!
  • Aveeno positively radiant moisturizer with SPF 15
  • Gosh velvet eye primer
  • dream mousse blush by Maybelline in pink frosting
  • Summer eclipse brozer in moonlight
  • Maybelline dream mousse foundation

A couple tips for this look are if you can get away with it don't use mascara. My lashes are bullet straight so after curling them I did put some mascara on, if I had some clear mascara that'd be a good option as well. When Im going for a no makeup look I like to add bronzer and to carefully contour my face because that really is most of the makeup that your wearing. To make this look more dramatic though go for pale and matte skin. If your finding the lip colour to be washing you out alot, then take the tiniest bit of colour off your lips with your fingers and smudge it softly on ur checks.

The main tip though is about the colour you choose. Pick one you love and not one that you think will suit you. This trend is not about being natural it is about unnatural lip colours.

Have fun with it!

My Skin Routine and How it Changes during Pregnancy

So many things happen to you when your pregnant...

Problem is not enough people talk about them. Especially I find anyways the ones to do with the beauty routine. The non-gross parts lol! Lots of people talk about all these crazy weird things that happen but no one talks about the perks or just the changes that happen to your skin and hair.

So I'm going to talk about what my skin care routine was before pregnancy and what it is now. This a general guideline of things to look out for that change. How they change is up to your body and can vary even form pregnancy to pregnancy.  Hopefully I address some of the things that you noticed change but didn't realize it was because of pregnancy, as well as give you pointers on how to just take care of your skin at anytime.

--> Watch video for the rest<--

I have to emphasize! Don't look up pregnant skin look up whatever your skin is doing, because if you look up pregnant skin alot of the time you'll just find other pregnant women freaking out over skin changes rather then solutions.

Skin changes so change with it :)

Natural Earthy-Toned Makeup

Bold Colour, Bold Lips, and Bold Liner... I think I need a break from all the bold makeup I've been doing. Though I would be nothing without my flair :P so I went natural but with a twist. Not natural as in a no-makeup look but natural as in earthy. Olive green tones and rosy browns. Let's channel some mother nature.

BUT WAIT... There's more!!

I decided to use gold as my primer. It isn't going to show vividly under these colours, but it will bring a nice warm shimmer to the overall makeup look. Seeing as metallic is a makeup trend this spring I wanted to find a everyday makeup look I could wear while utilizing this trend. I have done other looks with this metallic trend in mind but they were more of an evening look. Hopefully even with the gold this will still work as a grocery shopping look :P

Here is the completed look!

Well, there it is! What do you think? I really think this is a great simple and light everyday look. It really makes my hazel eyes pop! Though you could wear this on any eye colour. The browns would compliment blue eyes, the greens would bring out green eyes and brown eyes can almost wear anything lol.

Today I am hitting up a indoor play area with my kids and this makeup is perfect and light for a mommy outing! The gold was a perfect base to these colours and added just enough shimmer to make me feel like me but you can skip that step if your hoping for a more matte look.
